Effect of Precipitation Hardening on Deep Drawing of 6061 Al-Alloy

In this research, to investigate the effect of precipitation hardening on the deep drawing behavior of 6061 Al-alloy, first, the thickness of a 6061 Al-alloy sheet was decreased from 5 mm to 1 mm by four passes rolling and then, punched to obtain circular specimens with diameter of 80 mm. The specimens were heated in 528 deg;C for 60 min and then quenched in water and finally aged in 180 deg;C and 210 deg;C for 30, 120, 240, 360 and 480 min.
