This paper deals with the problem of the robust tire-road friction force estimation. Tire-road friction is the most important piece of information used by active safety system. The friction coefficient between the tire and the road is exactly the kind of information which is very useful but is not directly measurable. To achieve the vehicle speed information and tire-road adhesion property is very important to the vehicle active safety control system. Since the friction is the main mechanism ...
We propose a designed systems consist of series of micro ring resonator(MRR) in which the optical dark pulses propagating through thenonlinear waveguides can be amplified .This proposed system can beused in long communication system. The nonlinear effect which isknown as chaos contributes to segregation of continuous soliton pulseinto smaller pulses. In this way large bandwidth of optical signals canbe obtained. The power amplification occurs when the solitonpropagates along the MRRs systems. ...
In this paper an efficient numerical method is proposed for solving the specific nonlinear Volterra integro-differential equation which is a combination of the variation iteration method and the spectral collocation method. This method is easy to implement and possesses the high-order accuracy. Illustrative examples are provided to illustrate the validity and reliability of the propose method. Numerical results obtained are compared favorably with the exact solutions. ...
An objective of the structural health monitoring system is to identify the state of the structure and to detect its damagesafter a major event, such as the earthquake, to ensure the reliability and safety of structures. Innovative analysistechniques for the damage detection of structures have been extensively studied recently. However, practical andeffective damage identification techniques remain to be developed for nonlinear structures, in particular nonlinearhysteretic reinforced concrete ...
A new indicator is proposed to facilitate the detection of newly induced damage in reinforced concrete(RC) beams, based on the transient characteristics of nonlinear vibration. Two full-scale RC beams, one reinforced with externally bonded fiber-reinforced-polymer sheets, are tested to develop theproposed damage indicator. Both beams are statically and dynamically loaded to correlate thedynamic characteristics of the beams to the damage level. A phenomenological model is developedto simulate the ...
Many problems in engineering and sciencerequire the solution of nonlinear equations. Several examples of such problems drawn from the field of chemical engineering and from other application areas are discussed in this section. The methods of solution are developed in the remaining sections of the chapter, and specific examples of the solutions are demonstrated using the MATLAB software. مقاله فوق تحت عنوان حل عددی معادلات غیر خطی برای ...
In the current work we obtained exact solution for nonlinear free vibration of nanotubes (NTs) with surface effects incorporated to Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and von Karman geometric nonlinearity. We used Jacobi elliptic functions to obtain the nonlinear natural frequencies. Normalized nonlinear natural frequencies and the phase trajectory were studied with the presence of surface effects. This study might be helpful to design NT-based devices in a wide range of applications. ...
